I've always enjoyed math, but wasn't until after I earned my bachelor's degree in mathematics that I realized I would enjoy teaching it. I worked in a research hospital for a while after graduating, and I was considering heading back to school to study psychology. I decided to earn some extra income as a substitute teacher, and I fell in love with teaching. So I was taking courses to earn my certification as an educator. I went on to teach math full-time, where I quickly understood how fulfilling it can be to help students develop an appreciation of math and achieve success. The schools I taught in encouraged collaborative approaches where I build rapport with students and serve as a role model to them. I have always taken this responsibility seriously. I believe that students perform best when they are given challenges and support. With the rapport I build with my students, indication is open and students can feel comfortable asking any question. This encourages critical thinking and make students feel like an important part of the learning process. I am looking forward to tutoring algebra, calculus, discrete math, finite math, geometry, statistics, pre-calculus, trigonometry, middle school math, and math related test preparation. I'm looking forward to working with new students to help them reach their goals.
