Experience
I first acquired my bachelor's degree in Foreign Affairs at the University of Virginia. I went on to receive my master's degree in Public Health at Virginia Commonwealth University. I am currently working on my doctorate program, which is Clinical and Translational Sciences. My concentration for my program is Statistical, Psychiatric, and Behavioral Genetics. I am also a teaching assistant for students who are taking genetic epidemiology methodologies and/or statistics at the university. I also offer my hours helping at a nearby grade school. I assist the students with science and mathematics. In addition to those, I work privately as a tutor in Spanish for two elementary-aged children. I am available to tutor any subject, but my favorites are writing and science. I enjoy figuring out a student's learning style, and I excel at adapting to that. Upon finding that one approach doesn't work, I will try something else. I believe every child can succeed with the right approach. The most important aspect of tutoring is making sure my students understand the subject matter, so that takes precedence. When I am not tutoring, you can often find me reading. I enjoy autobiographies and novels. I also love cooking new recipes and watching Netflix!
