Hello students & parents, I have provided one-on-one in home tutoring and have done substitute teaching within Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, Charlotte, NC & at Charlotte Preparatory School. I have also worked as an AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) middle school tutor within the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System and as an after school tutor at two different learning centers in Charlotte. I taught ESL in Japan for one year. I am an extremely patient & intuitive tutor skilled in tutoring elementary & middle school reading, writing, English, history, social studies, science, and math, and also high school reading, writing, English, history, and social studies. I am knowledgeable in psychology, anthropology, sociology, religion & theology, and skilled at teaching ESL & beginning Japanese for anyone desiring help in these areas. In addition to my experience providing education, I have worked as a mental health counselor and am skilled at identifying & working with particular issues such as anxiety or lack of confidence that may be interfering with a student's academic progress.
