Hobbies

As a college professor for the past 12 years, I love mentoring and teaching students. Tutoring provides the ideal platform from which I can give undivided attention to the education and mentoring of young students. I believe that my student-centric approach, self-discipline, and patience make me an excellent tutor. We all remember those impactful teachers that went the extra mile and gave us special attention. I aim to do this with all of my students because EVERYONE is capable of learning. I have taught deaf students to dance, special education students to write analytical papers, and helped all students develop invaluable study skills and sense of their best way to approach academic success. I have a passion for helping students develop their communication skills, whether it be in writing, rhetoric, or public speaking. My teaching mantras include: "Everyone has the right to speak," "Students often learn more when they do the teaching," and "Presence, Performance, and Presentation skills are teachable, trainable and invaluable in life." I have lived and traveled all over the globe and love learning about new cultures- often my students teach me as well. Side hobbies include cooking, exploring culture through food, theatre, and stand-up comedy.
