Education
I am a first grade teacher and have been teaching for more than 20 years. I earned a B.A. in Early Childhood Education and later a M.S.W - Master of Social Work. I continue to participate in a Teacher Leadership Program and am a member of the Clinical Faculty program through VCU. I currently have a VA Certification (Kindergarten - 4th grade). I tutor during the school year on a part time basis and increase those hours during the summer.
Experience
I have been a teacher for more than 20 years. I have tutored on a part time basis for a few years now that my own children are older. I prefer to work with students who are struggling readers in the early elementary grades. The one-on-one supports that tutoring offers provides my students with not only the skills to grow as readers, but also the confidence and belief that they are readers!
