Education

I am a recent College Graduate looking to work individually with students to enhance their reading and writing skills. I graduated with my Associates of Science Degree- Social Sciences (2010) at Northern Virginia Community College. Then went on to obtain my Bachelor of Arts DEgree - English (GPA; 3.26) (2015) at Virginia Commonwealth University and my Master of Teaching Degree - Secondary English Education (GPA; 4.0) (2015) at Virginia Commonwealth University. I am currently seeking employment with a school district for the upcoming school year but I look forward to tutoring your students!

Experience

I love to work with kids of all ages, and have in the past. I have taken few elementary classes to understand how younger student learn, but have worked hands on with my neices and nephew with reading strategies. Most of my work and tutoring has been done at the middle or high school level working with students of all learning abilities. I love to teach writing, and enjoy teaching reading strategies to help students read beyond their texts. I am a highly motivated, energetic, and committed aspiring teacher dedicated to promoting educational development of students. I have strong people skills with proven ability to cultivate rapport with students. I understand that every student is different and learns in different ways. I am committed to making sure every student is given the opportunity to learn. I have also been coaching for about 8 years now. I have worked with cheerleading teams across the southeast with the Universal Cheerleading Association, planning camps and teaching new skills. I have also had my own freshman and JV high school teams, and the past year I worked with a Varsity cheerleading squad, helping them become 4th in the state championship. I love to see the growth in students and athletes that I am teaching.
