As part of my undergraduate experience I tutored incarcerated youth with developmental challenges. Working with these kids was an amazing experience. Although challenging because of improper education and behavioral challenges, I was filled with joy when I did make an impact. In lecture associated with this class we examined the social, behavioral, and legal battles faced by these children and their families.

I love reading, adventuring in Richmond, mixed-media art, coffee and animals. I have worked at Starbucks for 8 years and I'm a returning pre-nursing student at J Sergeant Reynolds. I have an australian shepherd who is my constant companion and adventuring buddy. I love children, and more importantly seeing the excitement in a childs eye when he/she has learned something.
