3 semesters of work at the Writing Center at Virginia Commonwealth University. 3 semesters teaching undergraduates: 2 semesters of creative writing (fiction and poetry), and 1 semester of Research and Writing. 6 months of private tutoring I've been tutoring intermittently for three years, and regularly for one year, and have come to love the process involved in consulting with students on their papers and at any stage in the writing process. I especially love the conversations about writing, and helping students to discover what habits and practices work best for them individually. I've taken dozens of English classes, in undergrad and graduate school, worked on dozens of my own papers. I've also taken 10 creative writing workshops and have written a thesis of creative work. I've also worked as part of the editorial and design staff at Broad Street: a new magazine of true stories. I work with contributors on their pieces of nonfiction, editing and providing suggestions for improvement, and have written my own blog entries.

Hobbies

Reading and writing (all the time!). I also enjoy outdoor activities--always with a group of friends--and listening to music. I practice yoga in Richmond and am participating in a work-study at my yoga studio. Living a healthy lifestyle is incredibly important to me. I don't watch much TV, but I love to see movies.
