Call me a biology enthusiast! With a BS in biology and with a focus on health occupations from the University of Richmond, I am looking forward to continuing my education in dental school at some point. As an undergrad, I enjoyed helping others as a tutor in math and science. My approach was to work closely with instructors to ensure that my tutoring was closely aligned to their curriculum materials. While I am able to provide tutorial assistance in a plethora of subjects, I am most interested in biology. In my own education, I learned how important mastering the very basics of the biological systems and functions are. There is often a pattern of losing of interest in biology, and I believe that can be attributed to the failure to understand and grasp the basic principals. I enjoy being able to take the complexity of this subject area and translate it to more readily relatable concepts for my students. As a tutor, I believe it is my personal responsibility to make whatever subject I am teaching, relatable and enjoyable. On a personal note, I enjoy a variety of activities that keep me engaged; from sports like soccer and rugby to music, where I have a passion for percussion.
