Experience
I approach tutoring by assessing a tutee's strengths and weaknesses, discussing their objectives, and constructing a curriculum to achieve all goals. I emphasize the fundamentals of the language Spanish language and treat them as the building blocks by which more complex linguistic compounds can be constructed. From my studies, I specialize in linguistics, pronunciation, spelling, grammar, Latin American culture and history, and medieval, colonial, and postcolonial Iberian literature. I'll make sure you can write it, speak it, and read it correctly (even if it's Old Spanish from 800 years ago). I worked as Technical Editor for a U.S. D.O.D. contractor in Northern Virginia from August 2016 to September 2018 before returning to Richmond, VA. While there, I was a Spanish Tutor for undergraduate students at George Mason University's Fairfax, VA campus. In the past, I've been an Intern for the Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
