Experience
There's nothing I love more than helping students gain a better understanding of math. For me, completing math problems is like solving a puzzle I like to teach my students math in a way that's fun and relatable, so that they're able to use the skills they have to help them answer problems. I graduated from the College of William and Mary with a bachelor's degree in mathematics. During this time, I worked as a mentor and tutor, where I helped middle school students improve their math skills and increase their chances of success in the classroom. Shortly after graduating with my undergraduate degree, I enrolled in a graduate program at Virginia Commonwealth University and received a Master of Science in Statistics. One of the main reasons why I enjoy teaching math is because I believe that having good problem-solving skills and a greater understanding of numbers is an important skill to have in the classroom as well as out in the world. After all, we use some form of math in our day-to-day lives. My goal isn't just to prepare students for upcoming math exams, but to also help them learn how to love and appreciate learning math just like I did when I was their age.
