EducationI graduated from UVA a semester early in December 2012 with my BA in Economics. I also took all the pre-med coursework and was accepted to medical school. However, I have forgone med school for now and am pursuing my Master's of Healthcare Administration at MCV's School of Allied Health Professions. Due to this diverse background I am able to tutor in a variety of subjects.
ExperienceI tutored in the Charlottesville area for three years during college. I recently moved to Richmond for grad school and am looking forward to working with local students!
I have tutored 5th-12th grade for students at a variety of public and private schools, as well as home-schooled students. I have had a lot of success with my students in pre-algebra, algebra, pre-calculus, and geometry (one student also convinced me to tutor him in chemistry).
In high school I tutored through National Honor Society for all grade levels. My first year of college I tutored my friends in calculus and tutored middle school students in English through Madison House. During my last year in college I also worked as an athletic tutor for UVA, and worked with athletes taking economics courses.
I also have gone to tutors since high school and I feel like it has given me a personal perspective on what works and what doesn't. Having been tutored myself makes it easier for me to connect to the students and figure out what is going to be most beneficial to them.
HobbiesGoing to the gym, spending time with friends, going to the beach.

My son enjoyed working with Zoe--well, it was Algebra, so enjoyed is probably not the right verb! She'd contacted me immediately, was willing to accommodate us on a tight schedule, and was able to go over relevant test corrections, getting the assignment completed that would not have been done at all. 4 stars only because the detailed follow-up report I got from another tutor put that one over the top!
