My name is Cami Struiksma, and I am a highly qualified and effective tutor. I have 5 years' experience teaching and tutoring K-12th Grade. As a teacher, I have taught 3rd and 4th grade. As a tutor, I have worked extensively with students in ACT Prep, SAT Prep, Pre-algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Elementary Math, Earth Science, Biology, Life Sciences, and ESL Grammar. I am able to take students who are struggling, and give them the skills and confidence they need to excel. My tutoring style sets me apart from other tutors. I tailor my sessions to the needs of each individual student. If a student learns best through hands-on activities, I create hands-on activities help teach and reinforce skills. If a student learns best through audio and visual stimulation, I create activities that capitalize on that learning style. Along with tailoring sessions to the learning needs of your child, I have an ability to break down concepts and skills to their most basic and easily understood parts. I take an effort to make sure each concept is not only understood, but mastered. Lastly, I make leaning fun! I am able to connect with students, and work hard to keep them motivated.
